Skywave

A daily HF propagation puzzle. You get ten made-up stations around the world and one UTC day to work them.

Check the solar numbers, pick a band and an antenna, and call when you think the path's open.

Eleven bands from 160m to 6m, FT8, CW or SSB, and a new set of stations every day at 00:00 UTC.

Arthur

I'm Arthur, a plane nerd near RAF Coningsby. An SDR on a Raspberry Pi got me into radio, and now I'm studying for my Foundation licence. HF is the next rabbit hole, so I made this. The physics is simplified, so if you spot something a real operator would wince at, email me. 73

More about me and why I built it

This is a game, and the propagation is simplified on purpose, so please don't plan a real contact with it. For real conditions use VOACAP or a live propagation map.

Layer heights are exaggerated 8×. Low quality shows F2 only. The fallback view shows only the F2 outline.

Practice

Set your own solar flux and K index and play as many rounds as you like. It won't affect your daily streak.

Dates from May to August can bring northern-summer sporadic E.
